Limit bouldering develops maximal climbing-specific force and power through near-limit moves performed with full recovery.
This session is built around difficult boulders or individual moves that require close-to-maximal effort and high movement quality.
Use a system board, spray wall, or commercial bouldering wall. Select problems that demand high force and explosive movement without turning the session into volume work.
Keep the number of attempts low and the quality high. Rest long enough to recover between efforts, and stop when force, power, or movement quality clearly declines. Any optional aerobic work should remain secondary to the main high-intensity stimulus.
Purpose
Develop maximal climbing-specific force, power, recruitment, and hard-move capacity.
